Pei Duanqing x Stem Cells

"If human cells can reverse to the level of stem cells, then human lifespan will be extended"


I have been engaged in long-term research on cell fate regulation and transformation, and have made systematic and innovative work in the fields of inducing pluripotent stem cells and epigenetics. So far, more than 100 SCI academic papers have been published, including 13 original stem cell academic papers, 5 review papers, 1 Cell main journal review, and 1 Nature main journal review in Nature Genetics, Nature Communications, Nature Methods, Nature Cell Biology, Cell Stem Cell, and other Nature and Cell sub journals. Internationally, he was selected as an EMBO Associate member of the European Molecular Biology Organization in 2018. He has also participated in research planning and evaluation in relevant fields in China multiple times, and was one of the conveners of the first expert group of the National Major Scientific Research Program for "Stem Cell Research" in 2011; Natural Science Foundation is a member of the second and third expert advisory committees of the Ministry of Medical Sciences; Leader of the expert group for the "Key Special Project on Stem Cell and Transformation Research" of the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2017.

"Searching for mysterious dark matter in extraterrestrial clusters around 300 million light-years old"


Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Harvard University, Pappalardo Fellow from MIT, and Einstein Fellow from NASA. The youngest recipient of the Bruno Rossi Prize from the American Astronomical Society and the discoverer of the giant bubble structure in the Milky Way Galaxy, his research work has been selected as one of the world's top ten advances in physics and astronomy. The main research directions include the origin and evolution of the universe, high-energy astrophysics, detection of black holes and gravitational waves, dark matter and dark energy, and the formation and evolution of celestial bodies in the solar system. As the project manager, he promoted the construction of the world's highest astronomical telescope in Ali, Xizang, and participated in the development of China's first space astronomical satellite, Wukong, to search for dark matter particles. At the same time, by searching for new models and organically combining commercial and scientific exploration, we will carry out the exploration and peaceful utilization of planetary resources within the solar system.

"Can traffic casualties really be zero"
I have led and managed a public transportation city creation project in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, collaborated with the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission on projects related to low emission areas and congestion charges, collaborated with the Chengdu and Qingdao Development and Reform Commissions on sustainable and livable city projects, and collaborated with the Chinese Planning Institute of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development on road safety design projects. In 2014, he was specially appointed as an external director of Chongqing Urban Transportation Development and Investment Group by the Chongqing State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. In 2017, Mr. Liu Daizong was appointed as a member of the Third Expert Committee of the Beijing Transportation Commission and an expert of the Guangzhou Transportation Expert Advisory Committee. Mr. Liu Daizong established the technical theoretical system of "comprehensive solutions for urban redevelopment guided by public transportation" based on his work experience in public transportation development in more than ten cities. In 2014, Mr. Liu Daizong created a non-profit WeChat official account, "Small mountains at a glance - sustainable cities and transportation". So far, he has gathered 310 professional volunteers around the world to participate in the work, and has 50000 followers. Since 2017, he has served as the Chairman of the Future Transportation Technology and Policy Discipline at the World Transportation Congress.

"A coral reef is a 'metropolis' where marine organisms gather and live"

Head of the Discipline Group of Coral Biology and Coral Reef Ecology, South China Sea Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and head of Hainan Tropical Marine Biology Experiment Station, Chinese Academy of Sciences. I have been committed to the research of coral biology and coral reef ecology for a long time, and have led/been responsible for multiple scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Strategic Pilot Project A of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Science and Technology Support Program, and other provincial and ministerial level projects. Propose that the main cause of coral reef degradation in China is human destruction rather than climate change, and lead the research and development of coral reef restoration technology. Received the Marine Science and Technology Award (Second Class, First Completion), Zhu Li Yuehua Outstanding Teacher Award, and other awards.

The "SELF" forum is a scientific and cultural forum jointly sponsored by the Computer Network Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Bureau of Science Communication of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is also a forum fully launched by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, dedicated to the cross-border dissemination of elite ideas. SELF is an abbreviation for Science, Education, Life, and Future, aiming to explore the development of technology, education, life, and the future in the spirit of "seeking knowledge from things". The podium holds a monthly event and has held over 30 theatrical speaking events in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and other places. Guests from various fields such as technology, education, art, and culture are invited to stage, each sharing unique experiences and perspectives for about 20 minutes. Graduated from Harvard University with a PhD in Design. Formerly taught at Renmin University of China. Served as the curator of the China Pavilion at the 12th Venice Architecture Biennale in 2010, as well as the curator of the "Light of Collected Civilization" held by the Palace Museum. Collaborating with the Dresden National Collection, the exhibition "Living Chinese Gardens" will be held at the Piernetz Palace in Saxony. He has authored numerous works and articles on art and architecture, including "From Abandoned Garden to Yanyuan", "Fireworks in Chang'an", "Trees" and "Night" (French and Italian versions), "Ten Lectures on Art Museum", "Ten City Paintings", and "Crazy New York" (translated).

The Father of Taiwanese Folk Songs

"Songs need to be planted before flowers bloom on the land"


Known as the "father of Taiwanese folk songs". In the 1970s, he and his friends Li Shuangze, Yang Xian, and others began the campus folk song movement. He used classic songs such as "Beautiful Rice Ears", "Children on Cow Backs", "Dawu Mountain is a Beautiful Mother", and "The Farthest Road" to sing the most symbolic ballads in Taiwan, as well as the lament of longing for his hometown. He recorded his journey and life with a voice full of vicissitudes and power. In 2005, he released his first solo album "Hurry", which was nominated for six Golden Melody Awards and won the Best Song of the Year and Best Lyricist awards at the Golden Melody Awards for "The Wind of the Pacific". At the same time, it has received unanimous praise both domestically and internationally, winning awards such as the "Mandarin Golden Melody Award" and the "Mandarin Media Music Award", "Best Folk Singer" and "Best Mandarin Male Singer". Best Mandarin Song of the Year at the 2017 Mandarin Golden Melody Awards and Top 10 Mandarin Golden Melodies.
